THE LEGEND OF DATAR KADU VILLAGE

Tens of last year, there was a jungle. It was existed between Pasir Ipis and Cikangkung hill. It was grow all kinds of wood tree. There was wood banen, tangkalak, teureup, kihiang, bengang, and durian tree. Whose name was also in a jungle of course many existed animal. Tiger, monkey, ape, oa, monkey, and fox existed in big trees.

In the afternoon, tonggeret banen, oet-oet, and adag-adag sounded together. like in concert. heard very noise, hurt ear. More than anything else the voice of oet-oet were very piercing. Though, oet-oet physique waas small, smaller than tonggeret. If adag-adag was almost like turaes. Different only their voice. Turaes sounds raes-raes, whereas adag-adag voice big reecho. If the people coward, hear sound adag-adag of course will surprise.


Also if the night arrived, cihcir, caricangkas, and loklok sounded together. Cihcir sounds, felt worry, cause scruff stands up. Caricangkas sounds werrrr………unending werrrrrrrr. Added by ear loklok replied. Of course made the jungle situation increased horrible.

In the night at the jungle was often heard tiger sound roar. Aumn……..aumn…….., gerrrr……..gerrrr…… that was the voice. The most often heard fox voice. Heang……..heang….the voice like one who cry. Also heard the sound of wolf.

Though the jungle was horrible, sometimes was felt please. At fruits season, all kinds of jungle fruit beared fruit with close. Tangkalak beared fruit white shimmer. Durian Tree beared fruit close. Thr litchi forest were close, hinge in every branch. Fragrance of banen wood flower fragrant, jab nose. The puspa flower, fragranced all over it.

But the danger remained to menace. In leafy brush wood, phyton hide. Unseen by us, because hide on-site that hided. It might seem if was preying. Monkey came to branch that near coppice. Only at a glance, siet….., snake phyton dashed againsts. Hit, monkey was twisted. Kocecet………, gerebeg……..gerebeg….., kept quiet voiceless. Monkey was eat by the corporeal snake as big as the coconut tree.

Between the big grove in the jungle, there was a most whacking tree. That was durian tree. Really, the bigest durian tree. reputedly, It was almost two pas half metres. Its fruit close next. almost in every branch, every stick, there was fruit. Its branch also leafy shade surrounding grove.

Unportunately the fruits were never plucked people. Nothing people plucked it. Don’t pluck, take fruit that were not also . Reputedly, it tree was had a fine creature. It was not people like us, but fine creature, genie maybe. If coincidence there was passed by around it, like sudden serious suffering disease. Almost were not helped.

More and more over, the peoples were coming to deforest to made an orchard . making orchard, of course needed materialses for made house. Finally everyone dared troop cut away the wood to made it. Firstly they cut away the wood afar off from durian tree. One…two……..three…groved continues cut away. It were made board, pillar, log, for materials of house maker. The rest was lignified burn.

Because continuously cut away, grove in forest were decrease. Forest that horrible at the first, now turned into an orchard. Fair to middling, its resident was there was estimated teenly. Wooden house Roof, gardens turned greens. Seen like a new plain medial forest.

Further, the orchard resident were meeting. All of them agreed if the orchard must be named. It was called Kampung Datar Kadu. Intentionally take benefit from durian tree that existed there. After the time it was known as Kampung Datar Kadu, until now.
